The Oberoi Group, founded in 1934, owns and manages thirty hotels and five luxury cruisers in six countries under the 'Oberoi' and the 'Trident' brands. The activities of the Group include airline catering, management of restaurants and airport bars, travel and tour services, car rental, project management and corporate air charters.

Nine are members of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, a select association of international luxury hotels chosen for their extraordinary levels of guest comfort and service. Additionally, seven are also members of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, a collection of exclusive hotels carefully selected for their style, sophistication and the highest standards of service.

Trident Hotels are superior first class international hotels with contemporary facilities offering quality and value. Friendly and efficient service in a warm and relaxed atmosphere makes them the ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The Group opened its first Trident Hotel in Chennai in 1988. Trident Hotels have since opened in India at Agra, Udaipur, Cochin, Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai and recently in Gurgaon. The Group also operates Trident Hotels in the Saudi Arabian cities of Jeddah and Khamis Mashayt.

The Group recently announced a strategic alliance for Trident Hotels with Hilton International Co. This alliance covers nine hotels with approximately 1,900 rooms across India under the "Trident Hilton" brand.

The last few years have seen the development of new luxury resorts in India and overseas. In India, these include The Oberoi Rajvilãs in Jaipur, The Oberoi Amarvilãs in Agra, Wildflower Hall in Mashobra (in the Himalayas), The Oberoi Vanyavilãs in Ranthambhore, The Oberoi Cecil in Shimla and The Oberoi Udaivilãs in Udaipur. Overseas, the new hotels include The Oberoi in Mauritius and The Oberoi, Sahl Hasheesh in Egypt.

The Group's commitment to excellence, attention to detail and personalised service has ensured a loyal guest list and worldwide accolades in the hospitality industry.

Recognising the importance of quality training in hospitality management, the Group established The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development in New Delhi in 1966. Today, this institution is considered among the best in Asia with approximately 100 students graduating each year.
